Joe Rocca, M.S.

College Academic Coach

Joe holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, and a Masters of Education with a focus on grades 7-12 Social Studies. He has teaching experience at both the high school and college levels. Joe has been working in higher education as an academic advisor and success coach for the last four years. He has experience teaching a variety of courses related to academic growth and success at the college level. He works with a diverse group of students who have varying needs and skillsets.

Joe’s advising specification is with students who are neurodivergent or have executive functioning needs in and out of the classroom. He has experience creating study plans, organization tools, and self-monitoring strategies that are easily implemented by students on all levels. His work with differentiated instruction allows him to create individualized plans for each student he works with. Joe believes that personal accountability can be achieved through kindness, warmth, and honesty. He relies on open communication and clear, concise, guidance in order to help students gain the confidence required for academic success.

When Joe is not with students, you can find him on the golf course, or reading a good book! He also enjoys traveling, spike ball, and watching sports.
