C.P. Martinez
Middle and High School Academic Coach
Leveraging a diverse background spanning 12 years in education at both middle and high school levels, C.P. brings a wealth of teaching experience to his role as an ACA academic coach. He holds a bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Colorado, a master’s degree with a focus on curriculum and instruction, and postgraduate studies at Western University and Adams State emphasizing in history and students with learning differences.
C.P. is currently employed as a teacher at Colorado Prep Academy where he supports special education populations to meet diverse needs. He has honed specific skills and strategies tailored to meet the needs of students struggling with executive function deficits such as those with ASD and ADHD.
Beyond the classroom, C.P. has an acute understanding of the delicate balance between academics and extracurricular activities. Having been both a college athlete and later a high school basketball coach, he brings his experience coaching athletes to academic coaching. He stresses the importance of effective organization, planning ahead, self-advocacy, and time management skills in school and in life.
C.P. is a devoted husband and father to two energetic boys, aged 4 and 2, residing in the breathtaking mountains of Colorado in the Roaring Fork Valley. During the summer months, C.P. gets to participate in one of his favorite pursuits, as a float and wade fly fishing guide. Whether skiing down the Colorado slopes, attending his sons’ hockey games, or fly fishing on the river, C.P. feels blessed to live in the mountains and enjoy all the outdoor adventures mountain life offers with his family.
