Alysha Gray, Ed.D, NCSP

Academic Coach

Throughout her career, Alysha has served in various positions that point to her passions for student success and supporting students who learn differently. She received a master’s degree from East Carolina University in School Psychology and a doctorate in Educational Leadership and Administration from George Washington University. 

Alysha has served as an academic coach, instructional specialist, and academic advisor in a postsecondary program designed for college students with learning differences. She has experience in helping students improve many important skills including time management, organization, note-taking, goal setting, paraphrasing, test-taking, and more. As a former School Psychologist, she has a wealth of knowledge regarding the science of learning, neurodiversity, and learning strategies for students with disabilities. In fact, she has co-authored a book chapter on academic coaching in the postsecondary setting as well as a chapter on learning strategies for college students with disabilities. 

Alysha currently serves as the Network Director for a National Student Support Network, College STAR, and works to make colleges and universities around the nation a more welcoming place for students with disabilities. She also serves as a Regional Coordinator for the Office of Exceptional Children with the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction. In this role, she aids school districts in matters of special education.  

Alysha lives in North Carolina and enjoys having access to beaches and mountains. In her free time, she enjoys baking, trying new recipes, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
