Monica possesses a Master of Education in Executive Leadership and Administration. At the start of her career, Monica spent ten years as a middle school teacher. She began her journey as an Intensive Behavior Support Teacher and moved on to an Assistant Principal position. She led professional development to bring awareness to inclusivity in the classroom and led training on research-based programs for students with disabilities. She is known for building rapport with students and implementing strategies that help them be successful in their classes.
Monica currently serves as the Executive Director of the Transitions Foundation-NC, which she co-founded six years ago. Through this foundation, Monica helps prepare college-aged students with autism spectrum disorder with the necessary skills to complete postsecondary education. She focuses on helping college students develop executive function skills like organization, time management, note-taking, maintaining focus in the classroom, and finding appropriate college resources.
When she is not working, Monica is spending time with her husband and two kids. Most of all, they enjoy the beach and participating in recreational sports activities.
