Nicolette Salerno

Nicolette Salerno, Ed.D

College Academic Coach

Nicolette comes to ACA from a career spent on college campuses as a professor and administrator.  She holds a master’s in counseling and a Doctorate in higher education administration and is a Board-Certified Life Coach.  In addition to her work with ACA, Nicolette is currently a professor at Caldwell University.

As the first person in her family to attend college away from home, Nicolette remembers how challenging it was to learn how to “college.”  She brings that awareness to her work with undergraduate and graduate students and has spent years incorporating executive functioning skills into her course curriculums.  Time management, project planning, prioritizing assignments, establishing deadlines, and learning how to communicate with professors are just some of the skills today’s students must have to be successful in face-to-face and online learning environments.  Nicolette believes in engaging students in their own learning by helping them learn how to succeed and enjoy the experience of building knowledge.

Nicolette lives in Montville, NJ with her husband and her best canine child, Vinnie.  Although her human children are grown and no longer live at home, she enjoys every minute she gets to spend with them. Nicolette loves home renovation and design, gardening, reading, and kayaking, and has a side business refinishing and repurposing old furniture.
