She completed her Master’s Degree at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) and is currently completing her PhD there as well. She has advised undergraduate college students in the Department for Disability Access and Advising and taught classes in Educational Psychology both in-person and online.
As a disability access advisor, Kylie supported college students with disabilities by assisting in identifying campus and community resources, developing self-advocacy and study skills, and navigating the diverse and complex campus community. She reviewed incoming students’ documentation of disability (IEP), neuropsychological reports, and created Accommodation Plans for students. She held ongoing meetings with students and often collaborated with university professors to help meet students’ individual needs.
Kylie gained a great deal of experience working with intermediate and high school students during her positions in both the Broward County Public Schools and The Indiana Area School District. She has expertise in the assessment of executive functions, as well as strategies to build these skills, such as study skills, time management, organization, and self-advocacy. Kylie promotes and prioritizes student achievement, positive behavior, and self-care. She is passionate about helping students reach their fullest academic potential and believes students accomplish this best in a supportive and accepting environment with adults who set high expectations for their performance.
Originally from Pennsylvania, Kylie now lives in south Florida where she loves to get outside, relax at the beach, and just enjoy the warm weather and sunshine. When she’s not on the beach, Kylie enjoys strength training, running, and spending time with her family and friends.
