Hilary Ben-Ami, M.S.
Certified Life Coach & Academic Coach
Hilary holds a Master’s degree in Education and a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education for Speech Communications from Hunter College in New York City. As a coach, she earned her coaching credentials from CoachU as a certified life coach in 2006. She has a wealth of teaching and academic coaching experience with students ranging from middle school through college. Her style is a blend of applied brain-based learning, strategic thinking, and mindfulness techniques. She worked at the University of New Haven as an Academic Success Coach and at Naugatuck Community College coaching at-risk learners. Hilary had a myriad of experience working with students to cultivate good study habits as both a coach and educator.
As a tenured educator, she taught English in both private and public schools. In order to reach reluctant writers, Hilary initiated a Writing Lab at her school and coached students to break through writing blocks for personal essays and research papers. Hilary collaborates with students from middle school through college to assist and support them in their transition to more independent learning and to design plans with them for the achievement of their goals.
In her spare time, she can be found visiting her grown children, hiking, doing yoga, writing, or listening to music with her artist husband and her King Charles Cavalier, Maya.
