Tierney Porter, M.A.
Middle and High School Academic Coach
Tierney holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Mississippi where she majored in English and minored in History. She then earned a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction and a Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Liberty University. She is currently completing an EdD in Educational Leadership from Belhaven University. Currently, she works as a 9th-grade English Teacher and PLC Leader.
Tierney has over 18 years of experience teaching students with learning differences, in the public school setting. Throughout her career, she has worked with students from all walks of life, but has primarily focused on students struggling with academic performance. She uses her expertise to empower her students to take control of their lives and achieve their full potential. She is a compassionate and supportive coach who works closely with her students to understand their unique needs and goals, and to create a personalized coaching plan that addresses their specific challenges and strengths.
Tierney, her husband, and their two children all make their home in Tupelo, Mississippi. While Tierney is not at work, some of her favorite things to do include going to her son’s soccer games and her daughter’s show choir performances, resting and reading on the beach, indulging in seafood, and going shopping at outlet malls.
